Let's be real, every single puppy is unique. Sometimes potty training happens automatically (lucky for them...) and sometimes it requires a more specific effort. You can potty train most puppies in a few short weeks once you know how to prioritize.

As a new pet parent, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with contrary, outdated, and ineffective information. Punishments such as yelling, hitting, or even the HORRIBLE myth of sticking your dog's nose in its pee or poop can cause your pup to become frightened of you and can ruin the new bond you are building.
Top 3 Puppy Potty Training Tips
1. Stay Calm & Disengage if Needed 🧘
Avoid yelling or reacting emotionally. If biting continues, calmly step away for 10 seconds. This teaches your puppy that biting ends the fun.
2. Support with Chews, Enrichment & Naps 🦴🧊💤
Biting often comes from unmet needs like the lack of chew opportunities, boredom, or fatigue. Offer safe chew items, freeze meals in toppls. Incorporate puppy training into mealtimes, and make sure your pup gets enough quality sleep.
3. Redirect & Engage Playfully 🐕
Use a favorite toy (like a long fleece tug) to redirect biting during high-energy moments. Make the toy act like prey—wiggle it away from your puppy to spark interest and encourage tug or fetch. This may take some finesse, and we're happy to help!
